朝顔/Morning glory

    Aチャンネルシリーズ第３弾。幾つかの新しいアプローチを試して課題を確認した。

3rd work of A-channel series. I tried some new technique, and found problems.

    

    今回は以下の順序で塗っていくことを決めていた。下地を塗る。模様や質感などを描き込む。その上からグラデーションをかける。

 In this work, I first paint ground color, then draw some details like cracks of walls, finally paint gradation over.

壁の上にウオッシュをかけて色を挿したら、折角の描きこみがほとんど溶けてしまった！とはいえ幾つかは残り味のある壁になった

空色で人物の下地をあてたのはひどい間違いだった！明暗の構成上ユー子にはスポットライトが当たっているべきなのに

植物が下手だ。愛が足りないからだ

    家の壁はいい味が出せた。とは言え、グラデーションのあとに細部は描き込むべきだった。先に描き込んだので全部溶けたりしてしまってあまり意味がなかった。ユー子が暗くなってしまったのは最悪のミスだった。明暗構成は勉強してきてたのに生かすことが出来なかった。これは技術的な問題というより思慮が足りない故の結果だった。植物は難しい。他の作品を見て勉強したい。今回の制作時間はおよそ四時間だった。

   I love details of houses, but I should have paint details after painting gradation to avoid the details be washed away. Painting U-ko with shadow colors is the worth mistake. She should have been spotted so she can stand out against the dark back ground. Painting plants is difficult task. I should learn more. It took about 4 hours to finish this work.

    ここ最近は厚塗りを試してきた。厚塗りはこれはこれでいいが透明水彩の良さを最大に生かしているとは言いがたい。実際１年以上前に描いたこれやこれのほうが透明水彩らしい作品だと思う。やはり透明水彩は空白を生かした軽快な塗りとにじみ（グラデーション）が持ち味だと思う。ここは原点に回帰するべきかも知れない。

 I tried paint over and over technique recently. It is not bad, but you can't say this technique fully take advantage of watercolor. Actually my works such as this and this are more like "water color". I believe advantage of water color is in lightly painting and blur(gradation). It may time to back to basics.
