水銀燈「海藻とったどー」 / Suigintou "got ya!"

お気に入り。過去数作品の制作で得たノウハウが全て投入されている。ほとんど完璧で不満点を見いだせない。

 My favorite work. All technique I got through drawing last several works contributed to finish this work. Fairly perfect, I can't find any major errors.

 下塗りはブルーグレイとセピアの混色でやや青みある灰色を目指した。逆光のため淵は明るくしている。

 Ground color is bluish gray  made of mix of blue-gray and sepia. The border is rather light than middle.

肌色は従来のように単純に下地に肌色（ジョーンブリヤン）を挿すのではなく、ローズ・マダーとセピアを加えることで暗くした肌色を塗っている。

 I drew the skin with dark-flesh color which is mainly jaune-brillant and some rose-madder and sepia. I tried this way because I found just adding not-dark-flesh color on ground color was not good one.

スク水はブルーグレイとセピア、それにペインズグレイの混色である。

 The swim suit is painted with mix of blue-gray, sepia and payen's-gray.

スケスケシャツを描くのはそれほど難しくない。生地が接触するところだけ塗ればいい。当然ぼかしを使う。

 Drawing a diaphanous T-shirt is not as difficult as you think. Just paint where the shirt is attached skin or swimsuit. Blur is key. 

空が均一に塗れなかったのは残念だ。海はブルーグレイとセピア、それにプルシアンブルーの混色である。プルシアンブルーを加えると青くなりすぎるのでセピアで抑制する。海藻はオリーブグリーンとセピアの混色である。

 I wanted to draw the sky more clearly. The sea is painted with blu-gray, sepia and prussisan-blue. Sepia prevents the color from getting too bluish. Seaweed is painted with olive-green and sepia.

洵と千詠 / Jun and Chite

　漫画の主人公。アップの人物画に自信がなかったので練習のために描いてみた。このサイズになると水彩の技術よりデッサンの技術がないことが問題になってくる…

 Main characters in my manga. Since I have not drawn closed-up figure recently, I drew it as a practice. Now bad drawing of figure is bigger problem..

ブルーグレイを挿すと肌に深みが出るが、塗る場所を間違えると病人になってしまう。

 Adding blue-gray to skin makes it more lively, but if you paint wrong point, they look ill. 

　髪の塗り方は改善の余地がある。水を仕掛けておく場合髪の先々まで塗ってないと干渉して乱れる。

 I should learn more about how to paint hair. You should paint all area includes top of the hair with water, or the area get mess when colors are attached.

　目の描き方も下手くそである。

暑い / it's hot..

やはり肌色が気に入らない。下塗りの青にあまり頼らないほうがいいかも知れない。もっと色っぽく描きたかった。構図や視点の取り方はかなり改善面がある。

 Again, bluish skin. Though blue ground is good to emphasize light and shadow, counting on it at all may not good way. I wanted draw her more sexy. The composition and point of view have much room for improvement.

運動会 / Sports festival

 この絵で試したかったのは２人の人物の描写でうち１人がスポットライトを浴びて強調されている状態だった。光の配置を工夫して光を浴びている人物の背景は暗く、一方位人物の背景は明るくすることにした。光線により二人の人物はそれぞれ目立っている。しかし色合いにはあまり満足できていない。特に暗い人物は青みが強すぎて不健康そうだ。下塗りに単純に肌色を塗るのは陰の人物を描く方法としてはあまり適切でないようだ。そもそもこの絵はどういう状況なのかわかりづらい。これが一番の問題だ。

 What I wanted to do is drawing two figures and one of them is spotlighted. With care for light, one in spotlight has dark background, and the other in shadow has light background. As a result, they both stand out. I'm not satisfied with the coloring..left girl are bluish, and looks bad health! The way that simply add flesh color on blue ground to make skin in shadow may not appropriate. The biggest problem is that failure of showing what is going on in this picture.

報せ / letter

　予めどんな配色にしたいかイメージできていなかったので、不本意な色遣いになった。特に陰の下塗りの色が汚い。影の部分の背景がよくわからない。もう少し奥行きを出すべきだった。また西洋のメイドとアラブのような背景の組み合わせは不自然に見える。

 Because of failure of planning coloring, some of colors in this work are not what I wanted. Especially, the shadow color is ugly. Background (shadow part) should have been considered more and deep. Also, combination of western maids and arabic building is kind of odd.

逆光

 A figure against the sun is what I have wanted to draw. I'm satisfied with this united coloring. This painting is one of few works that I enjoyed drawing.

 Like former painting,  I tried to draw this with care for light and shadow which highlights main subject (student girl). There are several problems includes bad drawing of persons. Trees and other plants―background―lack their details. They look flat. Good point is that main color (green) and other minor colors(white, blue, and red) add nice atmosphere to this work. I believe the theory of main and minor colors relationship is useful.
