漫画（無題）の原稿を三枚描きました。モノクロに関するセンスが以前により落ちていると感じました。練習しないといけない。

夏Ⅱ / Summer II

配色を誤りひどい失敗作になってしまった。幾つかの解決すべき重大な課題が見つかった。

 Due to failure of coloring, this work SUCKS. There are some technical problem I should get over.

その１はオーバーレイの処理にある。後景と前景が重なる場合の処理で、前景に合わせ後景を削るのか、前景を後景に重ねるのか判断が難しい。透明水彩は透明画材だから重なった後の影響を吟味する必要がある。

 First, overlay. It is difficult to decide whether you remain white (empty) areas so you can paint there after, or you don't remain the areas. In the later case, you paint over the areas. Since watercolor has transparence, you should estimate the effect when you paint over painted area.  

その２は云わず配色にある。今回は寒色を後景に持ってきたが、色の選択が誤った。後景には灰色をベースにした三色を使ったが統一感がなくこれでは一色に絞ったほうが懸命だった。前景の木は黄色を散らしすぎた。黄色はこの場合アクセント的な役割を持つわけだから、もっと少なめに使うべきだった。

 Second, is coloration. I painted background with cold colors. The idea was right, but coloration was failed. Three colors I used fight each other and there is no united theme. In addition, I used too much yellow which should have been used little as accent color(If you use one color too much , then the color is no longer accent color).

その３は樹木の描写で、特に葉の表現が稚拙で不自然になってしまった。

 Third is drawing trees. I should practice more.

このような課題を克服しないとさらに前進することはむずかしいだろう…

 I should get over these problems.

一方で樹の幹のハイライトは前回述べたプールから水を引っ張るかたちで描写しており、出来はともかく実践することができた。また故意の水のたらしこみによるヘイローも樹の幹を表現するのに活かすことができた。

 I used 'draw from pool' technique in highlight in tree, at least, I did. I draped water on tree and made halo on it. 

とにもかくにもこれで水彩一〇枚は描き上げた。あとは漫画だが…

 Anyway, I finished 10 watercolor works in this month as I declared, the rest is 10 pages manga...

夏 / Summer

Wet on wetを使ったF4サイズの水彩画。数段階に分けて着色を行った。水の仕掛け方が難しく幾つかの課題ができた。一つ目は水を仕掛ける域の決定で細部を描きたい場所は避ける必要がある。この場合細部を描く時に「プール」から水を引いてくることになる。

もう一つは描いているうちに連続している水域の一部が乾燥する問題でこれは水域を２つに分けるか、水を補給しなければならない。ただし水を補給する場合過剰な水が逆流して着彩した域を犯す危険性がある。

 F4 water color work drawn by wet-on-wet technique. I painted this in several steps. There are things you should care. When you put water on paper, you should avoid area where you want draw in detail. In this case, you bring water from 'pool'.

 In large water area, you may find some area get dry too quickly. To avoid this, you separate large area into several one or supply more water. Be careful, too much supplied water may invade area where you painted.

　光線が当たっているところ、あるいは差してくる光の背景はぼかすというのは役に立つテクニックかも知れない。

 The area where is spotted or is back of light may be blurred.
